BUILDING WRECKER'S BOND NO.___________________________
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that we, the undersigned ___________________________
_______ as principal, and
________________________________________________________ as surety, are held and firmly bound unto the City of
Birmingham, Alabama, a Municipal Corporation, in the sum of ________________________________
______________________ for payment of which well and truly to be made, the said principal and the said surety bind themselves,
their heirs, administrators, executors and successors and assigns, firmly by these presents.
WHEREAS, the principal will from time to time make application to the Building Official of the City of Birmingham for a
permit to demolish a buildings; and,
WHEREAS, as a condition precedent to the issuance of said permit, the principal is required under Article II Section 2204.5
of the Technical Code of the City of Birmingham, duly adopted by Ordinance 91-204 effective on the 1 day of September 1991, to
furnish a bond to the City of Birmingham conditioned as therein set forth;
NOW THEREFORE, if the principal shall well and truly do, perform, and accomplish in due time, form and manner all the
terms and conditions of said permit upon the principal's part to be done, performed and accomplished, and shall indemnify the City of
Birmingham against any damage caused by the demolition of such building to streets, curbs, sidewalks, shade trees, highways and any
other property which may be affected by the demolition of such building, and plug the building sewer and clear the lot on which such
building was situated of all debris occasioned by its demolition, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and
IT IS UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED that the liability of the surety shall be limited to $2,000.00 for each permit and that
under no circumstances shall the surety's liability under this bond exceed _ ____________________________________________.
IT IS FURTHER UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED that the surety may terminate its liability as to subsequent permits by
giving thirty (30) days written notice to the Building Official of the City of Birmingham, and the surety shall not be liable for any loss
arising in connection with any permit issued to the principal after the expiration of said thirty days.
This bond is given pursuant to the provisions of Article II Section 2204.5(b) of the Technical Code of the City of
Birmingham and is to remain in force and to be binding upon said surety for a period of one year from the date hereof, unless
cancelled, but may be continued from year to year by the surety delivering a properly executed continuation certificate to the City of
SIGNED, SEALED AND DATED THIS ________________ DAY OF ______________, 20_______.
